Hong Kong’s ‘National Panel’ referees, Tobi Lothian and Steve Foley will be in action early in the inaugural Asian 5 Nation’s Cup kicking off in Incheon, Korea and Al Ain City, UAE - last weekend in April. The iRB/ARFU collaborative competition featuring tiered, round robin games, brings the best hope Asian rugby has of developing an international rugby competition that mirrors what other rugby developed nations have at the present time, (i.e. 6 Nations, Super 14, Churchill Cup, etc). Whilst Steve already has an international under his belt this year, after the HK vs Tunisia game last week and the majority of the ‘home town’ HK Seven’s action, Tobi will be keen to prove a point after a disappointing injury over the same weekend. Steve has a difficult game in Japan vs Arabian Gulf in Osaka, Tobi travels to not only Japan, but Korea twice in the space of three weeks! Have whistle will travel!
